On May 6 and/or 7th, 2021, The International Biogeography will be holding 2 mentoring sessions (different times of the day to reach more time zones) for IBS early career members (students/post-docs). Mentoring sessions will be ~45 minutes, with 1 mentor per 10 students/post-docs in breakout rooms. If you’re an IBS early career biogeographer, we would love your feedback on what you would like the topics to be, or general subjects you’d like us to organize a session around. In the past we’ve held mentoring sessions on a wide variety of topics including (but not limited to) resume writing, job search, journal submission processes, island biogeography, etc., but suggested topics that would be useful for you are encouraged. Thanks!

There’s a problem with the former link, so please use the ‘contact us‘ page to answer the following questions:

  1. What sub-disciplines of biogeography would you be interested in talking about?
  2. What topics would you be interested in having a mentoring session on?  (eg. resume writing/journal submission/job hunting, etc.)
  3. If you’re interested in volunteering to mentor, please give your email address

Thank you, we look forward to your input.
