Honouring Vicki Funk ((1947-2019), a founding member of the International Biogeography Society (IBS), and 4th past IBS president), the ‘Funk Lecture Series‘ is a monthly, online seminar with guest speakers from around the world.  This lecture series is hosted by the IBS, and has been made free and open access, in the spirit of connecting biogeographers around the world and increasing awareness of their contributions.  We invite you to attend the lectures, and hope to see you there!

Join us on March 31st (April 1st in Tasmania) for a talk by Gretta Pecl on ‘Climate-driven species re-distribution in marine coastal systems‘.  Dr. Pecl is a Professor of marine ecology whose research includes detecting and understanding the mechanisms behind species range extensions, and population and fishery responses to environmental change. She was instrumental in the development of the citizen science model Redmap for ecological monitoring and community engagement. She is currently working with international colleagues on a Global Network of Marine Hotspots. She is internationally renowned for her innovative work on the biology and ecology of cephalopods.
