A new 3-year post-doctoral position at the Division of Conservation Biology, Landscape and Vegetation Ecology at the University of Vienna (cvl.univie.ac.at) is available. The position will be part of the Belmont-Biodiversa funded Alien Scenarios project (https://www.biodiversa.org/1360).

AlienScenarios will evaluate for the first time the range of plausible futures of biological invasions for the 21st century. AlienScenarios consists of six project partners in Austria, Germany, France, Spain and Canada and seven highly integrated complementary subprojects.

The task of the Post Doc within AlienScenarios will be i) to lead the development of global scenarios for biological invasions for the 21st century, to ii) analyse the consequences of biological invasions in the 21st century under different scenarios for policy, alien species management and science, and iii) to contribute to coordinating and leading the project.

A successful candidate should have a strong interest in biological invasions, global change, developing and applying scenarios and models, and research questions that cross boundaries of disciplinary science (including the socio-economic, social science dimensions); interest into science-policy communication is advantageous. The candidate should have interest and skills in collaborating with a large team of collaborators, and in coordinative and administrative tasks related with leading an international research project. The participant should be able to handle large complex datasets, have good writing, advanced statistical (preferably R), GIS s and website programing skills.

This is a 3-year position. The salary will be according to the Austrian Science Foundation (FWF) Post Doc salary (https://www.fwf.ac.at/en/research-funding/personnel-costs/). The foreseen starting date is 01.03.2019. The applicant will collaborate closely with Franz Essl, Bernd Lenzner, Stefan Dullinger and Dietmar Moser.
