Awards for Students and Early Career Scientists

The International Biogeography Society, the Biogeography Specialty Group of the Association of American Geographers, and the journal Ecography are awarding travel grants for students, post-docs, and early career (pre-tenure) faculty to attend the 2011 IBS biennial meeting, January 7-11, 2011 in Iraklion, Crete. Grants will be awarded to individuals giving oral and poster presentations at the meeting; all applicants must be current members of the International Biogeography Society.

International Biogeography Society Travel Awards

Travel grants are being offered to support student attendance at the 2011 International Biogeography Society meeting in Iraklion, Crete. Awards will cover meeting registration costs and attendance at a workshop. IBS currently anticipates funding at least 15 students.

 

Ecography Student Awards

Grants are being offered by the journal Ecography to support student attendance at the 2011 IBS meeting in Iraklion. Awards will cover meeting registration costs and attendance at a workshop. Ecography currently anticipates funding at least 15 students.

 

Biogeography Specialty Group Travel Awards

Travel grants are being offered to support student, post-doc, and early career (pre-tenure) faculty attendance at the 2011 International Biogeography Society meeting in Iraklion, Crete. Awards will be up to a maximum of $1000 per award recipient. BSG currently anticipates funding between 14-15 applicants. Stipulation for this award include that applicants work at U.S. based institutions and, in addition to being a member of IBS, must be members of the Biogeography Specialty Group (of the American Association of Geographers).

Applications and supporting materials are due by October 31st, 2010. Grant recipients will be notified by November 15th, 2010.
